Growing up, I always checked the sports section of the Times Colonist to see how you were doing. Whether it was your days at Santa Clara, your early years with the Suns, the Mavs years, or when you took over the league when you returned to the Suns, that newspaper always made an effort to let our hometown know what you were up to.
Thank you for inspiring a lot of youth basketball players – I’m sure the latest crop that is coming up through the NCAA ranks and into the NBA is because of what you did to put Canadian basketball (back) on the map.
So thank you Mr. Nash. Thank you for representing our hometown and country so well.
